City of Portland also offers Stormwater Retrofit classes where people can learn many of the rain garden concepts. Their 2009 schedule can be found on their website. Portland also offers site visit for homeowners interested in rain gardens and other stormwater retrofits. This would be especially appropriate for folks on the west side where the slopes are significant and water saturated soils could present some instability issues.
