The East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District (EMSWCD), all of Multnomah County East of the Willamette River, has scheduled Board and Committee Meetings at the District Office (Board Room), 5211 N. Williams Ave, Portland, OR 97217, for the months of May, June and July, 2013.

East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District announces its 2013 Partners in Conservation grants totaling $770,000 awarded to conservation and environmental education projects in the District’s boundaries (all of Multnomah County east of the Willamette River). The Partners in Conservation (PIC) program funds projects that address soil and water quality issues in the District, such as habitat restoration, environmental education, sustainable agriculture, and stormwater management. During the May 2013 board meeting, 30 grants were awarded.

EMSWCD has once again provided a dumpster for disposing of pulled and bagged garlic mustard. The dumpster is located on the Historic Highway in front of the ball field across the street from the Corbett Water District. The dumpster is marked clearly as GARLIC MUSTARD DUMPSTER. A tracking sheet is located below the dumpster. Please fill out all of the information requested on the sheet so we can track how much time was spent pulling garlic mustard and where it came from. The dumpster has been delivered and will be available through late June 2013. Please only use this dumpster to dispose of garlic mustard!
