Salmon in Johnson Creek? You bet!
Last week the carcasses of three adult coho salmon were found 15 miles up Johnson Creek. The fish spawned and died father up the stream than they have been seen in years. Recent investments by Metro and programs like StreamCare are truly helping to reclaim a healthy natural environment. In the words of Matt Clark, executive director of the Johnson Creek Watershed Council, "These carcasses show that fish are using the creek. This really justifies the investments and resources that have gone into protecting the creek."
